Rowan Regional Medical Center and the YMCA of Rowan County have partnered to provide you with a comprehensive approach to building a healthier lifestyle!

Finding time to focus on healthy living can be difficult. The Wellness Connection offers a variety of classes, workshops, and services to help promote health and wellness within the YMCA and also in the community. Guidance, encouragement, and education are provided to help participants achieve a healthier lifestyle. This program is designed for individuals, regardless of age or fitness level, who need assistance making lifestyle changes to improve their overall health.

Meet Your Nurse at the Wellness Connection
Rebekah Adams, RN, MSN
Community Health Educator

Rebekah received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University and a Master's Degree in Nursing from Gardner-Webb University. She has a vast nursing experience from a variety of settings including: critical care, cardiac care, hospice, and disease management. Rebekah also volunteers as a Parish Nurse for her church.
 
She has a passion for helping others and has a special interest in helping people learn to live healthy lives (body, mind, and spirit) through health promotion and education, disease prevention, early detection of illness or injury and appropriate medical referrals.

  • every Wednesday and every Friday at the J.F. Hurley Family YMCA, Salisbury 704-636-0111 ext. 304
  • every other Monday and every Thursday at the J. Fred Corriher, Jr. YMCA, South Rowan 704-857-7011 ext. 110
  • every other Monday and every Tuesday at the Saleeby-Fisher YMCA, East Rowan 704-279-6982 ext. 230

Services at the Wellness Connection, include:

One-on-One Nurse Consultations and Guidance for:

  • Those at greater risk of developing chronic diseases including high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease
  • Those who have recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that would benefit from a healthier lifestyle
  • Those who have recently completed a cardiac or physical rehabilitation program

Health Screenings and Risk Appraisals to provide you a snapshot of your total health and areas for improvement:

  • Medication Safety
  • Speakers on Various Health Topics (flyer)
